I dare not mention its name on this board but the worst av software decides to keep posting a shortcut on my desktop after I turn my computer on, also every time it puts a shortcut on my desktop I delete it. Im assuming that it is part of their bad program but just checking.

It could be a fake Security Center. Have you scanned your computer with your antivirus software (full scan)? If not, please do it right away and make sure it's updated. If it has not detected anything, download, install and update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and perform a full scan. Report back with your findings.

theski232,

I am curious.
If you don't like
the worst av software
why are you continuing to use same?

We await the results of a
1.full system scan by updated McAfee.
2.full system scan by updated Malwarebytes

I'm afraid you won't find many good comments about McFubar in this forum. From my personal experience along with others, it's nothing but problems, gives inadequate protection and causes system glitches. One of my personal experiences was it would regularly miss viruses/worms that MSE caught.

Have a look at this post & choose something...anything, except that. Just because it came with the system doesn't mean you're obligated to keep it.

I already know that mcafee is the worst av software but my dad (he got me the computer with it installed, and paid for it) believes that it is good av software, cant convince him to let me change it.
the Mcafee and malwarebytes scans were clean

Good to note both scans indicated no intrusions.

Re McAfee being" the worst AV software."
That may well be some peoples opinion. Others may think it the best.

There have been many corruptions and glitches corrected by uninstalling McAfee. People have Norton issues too but I've been using it for 6-7 years with no problems. I have had issues with McAfee on other's PCs.
