From time to time when I click to perform an action I receive a notice in a window named "Server Busy". When I click on "Switch to" it goes to the start window, so I do not know which program to activate and correct the problem what ever it is.

This is the message:

This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "switch to" to activate the busy program and correct the problem.

There are 3 buttons "Switch To" "Retry" "Cancel"

When I check the properties of the message it seems to be connected to IE. I am having a problem with IE9 that I have posted on this forum. The answers I continue to get from the forum are for problems listed in the forum at least 2 years ago.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Mike

Hi, what actions are you trying and what "start window" are you referring to?
Try uninstalling IE9, rebooting and then reinstalling. You can uninstall it via Windows Update.

When one clicks the start button lower left, the window opens that lists the recent programs and the control panel, the device and printers etc. I removed IE9.

As you have uninstalled IE9, you must be having IE8 now. Does your problem repeats with IE8 also?

Try SFC /SCANNOW at the command prompt opened with Administrator privilages. Go to microsoft update, download and install all the available critical updates.

If you still get the Server Busy error, open Task Manager/Processes tab and see if you have iexplore.exe*32 running. If so, right click on one and click End process tree this will kill all instances of any IE that may be running in the background. I think the Server busy can only come from the internet. Next time use the Switch to and open IE.

You may have some program trying to connect to update.

server busy

Hi Guys
I had the same problem for some time, I found a simple solution and worked for me, you have to use a tweaking program that have access to window startup, in my case it was ccleaner.exe. in startup window you can guess which program causing the error message or start experimenting disabling program by program and restarting each time and see if the error message has gone, in my case it was solidworks online support
good luck
