Service Pack 1 has installed twice

I'm installing Windows 7 on an Eee PC 904HA. I've installed Windows 7 a number of times on laptops but in this case my first install failed (updates got stuck - I'm blaming IE11). So I started again after reformatting and noticed, as in first attempt, that Service Pack 1 installs twice - same kb number. It comes up on an early set of updates, installs ok, then comes up on the next set of updates and installs ok again. It is showing as successfully installed twice! I'm just carrying on with updates for now (but NOT IE11 - had problems with that in the past and I reckon it's not compatible with older hardware) but does anyone know why Service Pack 1 is installed twice and should I do anything about it? Thanks.

That should not be a problem. It merely installs over itself again. Bottom line you actually have it only once.

Well the updates seem to have got stuck again - on 168 of 191. It's been stuck on 168 for a few hours now. Most of the updates are done - Service Pack 1 is installed, plus any drivers and all .net framweworks. It's probably the last batch, so very annoying. Any advice on what to do please?

Ok - I turned it off. Turned it on again, it installed some of the updates and now has 125 important and 50 odd optional, so I'm doing them 2 or 3 at a time.

The problem seems to be KB2835361. It won't install. Tried a few times. I'm starting a new thread on this as its a different topic to the original service pack 1 topic.
