Solved Set C:\ active instead of SystemReserv.Part.-> boot 0xc000000

Hello,

in the course of troubleshooting a different problem, I was stupid
enough to set C:\ active on a Win7 Prof 32bit system. Now I cannot
boot. I believe I need to set the SystemReserved Partition active again.
I have a Vaio X notebook without CD Rom drive.
I am getting the boot manager screen , with the 0xc000000f error.
I believe I will need a bootable USB stick and a program that will
set the right partition active again.
There is a restore partition on the hdd, but I am afraid of using it since
the last thing I want is resetting the pc back to factory. I don't know
if the problem could be solved with the help of that partition alone.
I have a full backup, 3 days old, thanks God.
I have done a lot of gogle research, and also searched this forum, but there
was no solution that was specific enough for this particulat problem. It's
"simply" about fixing a wrong partition "set active".
(I set the wrong, i.e. c:, partition active in _windows disk management_, btw..)

Please only post if you are confident enough that your solution won't break anything. =) I am really anxious... =)

SOLVED! i used the "MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable Flash Drive". after changing boot order, i was able to set sysreserved active again and voilà.
caution, this come swith the prof version, i e it cost me 20 euro. i advice users with the same proble to check for free software that might do the trick as well. personally, i liked minitool so, i spent the money, but i believe it's probably possibe to get the same effect for free somewhere.

Too bad you spent the money - you would've been able to download the free CD .iso of Partition Wizard and boot from the disc (once burned on another machine) to do the same job.

But what matters is you're back in business.
