I spent three hours trying to figure out how to set my desktop icons to open in max every time I click on them. I read many forums. some were close. some made no sense at all. I did figure it out. here is what you do. Click on one of your desktop icons to open it. it should open in small or half screen. Manually stretch the page to max size with your arrow by grabbing the bottom right CORNER of the page and dragging it to the very bottom right of the screen, and then grab the bottom left CORNER of the page and drag to the bottom left of the screen. I stress that you must grab in the CORNER of the page. NOT up and down. Your arrow should actually show in a slanted position when on the corner of the page. Now right click on any link on that page. Meaning anywhere you can open another available link, like "my Ebay", or "make payment", basically anything where your arrow will turn into a hand. When you right click, a window will open. You will click on "open in new window". that new page will now be in small or half size. follow the same instructions for the first page. do not close first page yet. after completing second window procedure, go to bottom of screen and put arrow on your explorer next to your start window. now close the first window, then the second. now click on any icon and you are good to go. a lot of words here, it is easy to do. I just wanted to stress how important the corner grabbing is. this will not work if you stretch using up or down or by simply clicking the max square at the top.

Or just right click the icon, choose properties, shortcut, change Run: to Maximised.

That should do it.

this is for people like me where you do not have that option. most shotcuts do not have that feature on windows 7. I looked for that on all my icons and on most forums I read people had the same problem. it only reads web document instead. but thanks for your modest input.

Yes, you are quite correct as my Steam game icons, Batman, Metro etc do not have that option.

Good call, my young Padawon Learner :D
