Before my vista machine died I used to run sfc/scannow to correct or make sure I didn't have undisclosed issues. Always seemed to fix things.

Now running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and there are files that the scannow command says it can't fix.

It says to find these files by going to the CBS log.

Typing in the command prompt with administrator permission C:\Window\Logs\CBS\CBS.log is not helping.

I get a message that has syestm 32 in the message line & I'm stuck.

Making a "windows repair" disc hasn't helped, or I can't tell if it is working.

Did you use sfc /scannow and the items listed in the blow note box?

I used sfc scannow several times & it said there were bad file(s) that could not repaired. I used sfc verify from the 9 page tutorial you provided to dig deeper & arrive with the dll issue.

I downloaded the 550mb fix listed in those same pages last nite & I still have that dll showing as bad.

I'd be happier if I knew more about computers, but I don't & its frustrating.

Not enjoying it when my xp laptop works better for web surfing than my high dollar desktop.

I know I'm still behind the times with dialup, but using the newest, or close to software ought to be on par with xp, or am I missing someting...
