I couldn't do better with the cable management. The left Panel on the case (the panel that doesn't have the window) is secured but at the same time... the wires just make it hard to close it tight. Real Temp while doing nothing :

Well, that's it, it's working. I'll be playing a game in a bit to see if something happens.

I would have just stared at the parts for a couple of days :drool: Your temps are decent, but a bit on high side for idle, best test with OCCT or Prime95, and watch it for a while. A Guy

You'll be in and out of the case over the next month so enjoy, it's a fun process and the wire routing is an art that some here have really honed. I'm pretty good but the case and the right cables and extensions make all the difference. This build looks great and I'm sure it performs well beyond it's crazy WEI scores and that's without any OC.
I see a H70 in your future !

Arctic Silver 5 takes up to 200hrs for total cure.
So the temps may drop 1-2* everyday for the next 2-4 days.

Just saw your WEI score, looks good

If your CPU is running at 40+°C, at 1619 MHz (idle, X12 multiplier), I would take the CPU out wipe off the thermal paste that came with it and put on the Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound.
That should drop the temp a little less than 10°C, with the stock Intel cooler it should drop to around 35°C.

Watch the temps for a while, your max temp is 73°C, for the cores in Real Temp.

TCASE 67.9°C - this is the CPU case, just add 5°C for the individual cores.

You should consider a 3rd party cooler, you can get a nice one for $30-50, it will keep your idle temps down to around 30°C, and when it's at full load it will help a lot.
Just something to think about.

@Dave76 : Since I have no experience in thermal paste, I decided to give the pre-applied one a go. If something go wrong I may just grab my PC and go to a shop with my own thermal paste say to wipe the pre-applied one to replace it with the Arctic one.

Also, I didn't find the XMT option in the BIOS. The Manual said it was only there for RAM that supports it and looks like mine doesn't so, it's a manual voltage overclock. I'm not going to risk it.

Many good thermal compounds out there and Arctic is very good. You should remove all of the factory installed material and get a super clean surface to start with then just remember that less is more. One pea size drop does it and then test seat the cooler with a slight twisting motion to help move the paste around. You can remove the cooler to check but the paste will continue to move and fill in the gaps as heat and pressure happen over time. The one thing you don't want is for too much paste to start moving outside of the heat sink.

XMP only works for dual channel using two sticks of RAM anyway. If I go to four I can't use XMP.

Yours is triple channel so it won't work at all.

There should be an option in bios to select 10xx or 13xx Mhz though with out OC. or voltage change. That option if there will change the voltage but safetly and the timing may change but it is to factory spec no guessing.
Something to check in the manual if you wish.

Asus does so Gigabyte may also.

Hi Mike, that's actually wrong. XMP has nothing to do with a dual or triple channel configuration setup.

If the memory supports XMP, and the motherboard supports it ine the BIOS, then you can use XMP, regardless of whether in dual or triple channel setup.

I have a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 with Corsair's Dominator memory and did have XMP enabled on my system.

As a side note, I don't use XMP because I prefer the manually set my memories settings.

OK so, I played Audiosurf a bit (at Max settings) to see my CPU's max temp while playing. It looks like the max it gets is 61oC using RealTemp. I set my BIOS to warn me if the CPU goes over 70oC. I'm pretty sure that if it happens, the PC will simply close itself. At this point, since I'm not THAT confident, I will just disconnect and grab my PC to a PC shop. I know, money wasted for most of you but I prefer doing it that way until someone really show me how to set a CPU Fan correctly.

Fun note : GPU's temp is NOT going over 40oC >_<

You can do this, it's sooooooo easy. You've already done all the tricky stuff the cooler is way in your wheel house to do! Are you going to stay with the stock cooler or look towards a bigger air or H70 style unit....which would be my suggestion. I'm seeing these on sale now and they are just a bit more than the H50 which I have and love ! If to save money you just remount your stocker the cleaning and paste is easy....don't fret YOU CAN DO THIS !

To be honest, those CPU's can run in the 70/80's and not be a problem. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. My i7-930 idles at 41ish, 72ish loads, and I've had no issues at all.

Also be aware that there are lots of factors to consider before chasing someone elses temps...

Environment - ambient temps
Case/case design
Fans/fan speed
hardware installed
Cable management
CPU Cooler/Cooler type
CPU build
Thermo paste

I know all the rage is to keep the CPU as cool as possible, but it running at 40 celsuis idle isn't going to destroy the CPU contrary to popular belief. And trust me, you'll be upgraded long before those temps wear that CPU out.
