Hi All,

I have installed Windows-7 Home Premium on my Sony Viao vgn-fw490 notebook without any issues. But, whenever I perform shutdown, it applies 18 updates and I have to wait for it to finish for 10 minutes. This happens always.
How can I fix this issue?

Thanks,
~Vikram

Rather unique problem. If it were me, the first thing I would do is to use system image to restore to a point prior to the downloads. When your image is installed, you will get all the downloads again. Make sure that you are set to install manually. Then install one at a time. If you do not have a system image for that period, you can use system restore and go back to a point prior to the first installation and then go through the same procedure. Finally, if that does not work you can try to uninstall, through the updater and then reinstall the way that I mentioned. These are the three ways that I know, chose the order that makes you the most comfotable.
