Hi all,

I was wondering if I could speed up file transfers on my Windwos 7 machine. I currently have 2x2TB SATA drives in RAID1 configuration (see below) but I feel the transfer speed is low when copying from one folder to another.

Can anyone say what the expected speed should be and what I might be able to do to get the most out of the internal file transfer speed?

Thanks in advance.

Intel's onboard SATA's can perform a bit strangely, that's why I'm reluctant to use it and would prefer an dedicated RAID card instead. Nevertheless try some different bench-marking software and see if you get the same transfer rates.

Not sure if you would need to, but check segates website and see if they have anything about the drives (not given us the model otherwise I would have looked for myself) about being used in RAID configurations, or firmware updates.
