I wanted to see if anyone else has this problem. I have tried this on both 64 and 32 bit W7 installs. If I set the desktop background to solid colors (right-click on desktop->Personalize->Desktop Background->Picture Location: Solid Colors) it adds about 15-20 seconds to the logon. This is without installing anything, just make that one change, then log out and log back in and see if it now takes longer. I thought it might be driver related, so I installed the latest nVidia drivers, but it made no difference.

Anyone have any ideas why this happens? Am I the only one that has this problem?

Might be regenerating the background every login, so might depended on screen resolution. Hard to say.
