slow startup

Thanks for any help.
HP Pavilion p7-1380t 64-bit
Windows 7 pro 64-bit

I have taken all the HP Garbage off the computer
but the startup is very slow.
I have gone into startup and disabled everything
that I thought was not needed at startup.
Need some ideas on what to check for next....

Try defragging, disk cleaning, and SFC /SCANNOW.

Very slow can be lightening fast to someone else, it's subjective. What's the bootup time?

Also check what services are automatically starting, especially non-Windows services.

2 minutes is't really all that long, depending on what's loading during the boot process: I know that 2 minutes seems like forever.

One thing you may want to try is referenced in the following article;

I'm not sure what that would do to help with a slow startup. Doing that will only cause his shut downs to take a bit longer while waiting on the page file to be deleted before the computer actually shuts down.

I was replying just before the brain was engaged this morning. The article was for a shutdown issue...as a starter and clearing the cache file does increase the time.

So, in simple terms, I messed up! Thanks for the catch.
