SmartDoctor

Eio.dll

So I've also been having this issue, but I actually have a nvidia card on my system. As I've been researching the issue I've noticed that its not only an issue with Win7, 64bit or otherwise... I've noticed Visa and XP users having issues as well. The tip to disable driver signing using F8 was suggested somewhere else for a Vista work around, but there really doesnt seem to be a solution to this issue. Ultimately I think the .dll isnt verified or registering properly. Any ideas?

Well I reckon, they oughta get up off their ASUS and fix this piece of rubbish that they call an aid, to make your card run more smoothly, yeah right. This has been going on for years ,I dont think there is one OS that it works on, without exploding some way or the other,I better stop.

Yeah like I said, I'm pretty sure there isnt a viable solution to this issue... I've been having issues like mad with my P6T Deluxe and Win7 combo. I'm not sure that its specifically Win7 but more mobo related. I love ASUS, they have been really good to me in the past... but jesus the issues are annoying.

Simple things like coming out of S3 will cause the system to hang resulting in a forced hard reboot... or leaving my external HDD plugged in will make the BIOS think I want to boot from that instead of my RAID set. All with no forseeable solutions...

If this is of any help, I have installed Smart Doctor Successfully.

What I did was extract the zip file downloaded, and went on the properties of ALL msi and exe files and done compatibility mode for "All previous Versions" (For msi files) and "Windows Vista" (For exe files, not vista sp1/sp2).

Then i just double clicked setup.exe and installed, when I rebooted, SmartDoctor was working great and still is.

I did what sandeep mention above and its work here is what I did, if it not working for you just unstall it and try installing a new one back in.

When you about to install it right click on the setup icon go properties then campatibility, check the Run this program in compatibility mode for: select windows vista after that click OK or Apply. now try to install the program like the way you normally do.

Hope this work and now I got to try get the Asus AIsuit working on wins7.

Hi To all First it is my first post so i hope this will help many peopple as i also got the same error like other EIO.Dll not found or loud etc...thay way to get solved the problem is do as i write down i make the same and volla its work now find ....

Solution:
Search the registry for eio.dll

The first reference to it will have some nonsensical key name and the following value:
C?\Program Files\ASUS\SmartDoctor\EIO.dll

OR

C?\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\SmartDoctor\EIO.dll

Fix this typo to fix the problem (Replace the ? with a : )

sorry for my Bad english ...

Download the New Version at Softpedia 5.38. This works on Windows 7

Addition to Solution, Need to Adjust Dword Value

In addition to changing the error in the path for eio.dll I had to locate the other reference to EIO.dll ( withing the registry under shared dll's )and change the Dword value from "5" to "2" using the regedit application and the application was able to load properly.

Hope this helps some others, I am running Win 7 64 bit Ultimate Build 7100 :geek:
