Smooth transition when changing windows backgrounds

When I choose multiple backgrounds they change instantly instead of a smooth transition. I have "Turn off all unnecceassary animations" unchecked and "Animate controls and elements inside windows" checked.
I dunno if this matters but I have Windows 7 64, radeon hd 6870 and two monitors.

How do I fix this?

It looks like you have the right settings, so let's try this. Go to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes folder and rename the slideshow.ini to slideshow.bak.ini and restart your computer and then go back in and set up the slideshow again and see if that helps.

That did not work, it still snap changes.

Do Option 2 of this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html it will not harm any data or programs you have installed it will try to find and repair any corrupt system files that you have. You may have to do this up to 3 times with a reboot after each scan.

Did it 3 times, it found nothing. Still doesnt work

Are you using a Aero theme?

You need to use a aero theme to get the smooth transition.

okay, so i have tried what you wrote, up to the point of Aero theme. im lost. i just recently noticed my background is doing this, and i am a VERY OCD person and i'm getting pissed off about it. i have a custom slideshow and it used to transition perfectly, and now it just snaps to it. i read the top and can not figure out for the life of me how to make my slideshow aero and i read the Red warning. still lost..
