SO close - Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver

Hi I seem to be having the same issue everyone else is having. I just installed windows 7 on my HP dv5000 and i guess they do not have a sound driver available yet. It looks like some of you found some luck, but I am new to all of this. Can any of you please help?? Here is some additional information:

Go to Microsoft Update Catalog and paste each of the hardware IDs into the search box in turn until you get the results you want. PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_30A4103C works best in this case.

No sound driver for Win 7 and Hp Pavilion dv5210?

I have search the HP and the Microsoft support sites to no end for a driver that would work with the Conexant AC-Link Audio device. HP has gone on record that it will not provide a driver for the Win 7 op system and the dv5000 series laptops and tells it users to contact Microsoft and/or Conexant. Conexant says they arent permited by HP to provide a driver that will work with Win 7 and the dv5000 series laptops.

So is there a legitimate work around for the many dv5000 series laptop users who would like to migrate to the much improved Win 7 op system with out giving up one of the main features why we bought the dv5000 series laptop?

Has anyone any success in finding a workable driver for conexant AC-Link audio and Win 7 and HP Pavilion dv5210us.

It is apparent that HP and Microsoft at this point in time have not provided a multimedia controller sound driver that will work with Win 7 in the Pavilion dv5000 series laptop and more specific to my computer the dv5210us model.

It has been noted that Win 7 is set to work with a High Definition audio device which is not installed in the dv5000 series laptops. Since there is an unexplained reason for Microsoft not to have a compatibility interface for the regressive Conexant AC-Link Audio device is there a Win 7 compatible replacement audio board that is available for installing in dv5000 series laptop?

this is the most ridiculous example of oem re-branding ever. Seems that hp, who claims to be the manufacturer of this machine, bought the chipset from ali, aka acer labs, inc. And to prevent any acer (a competitor in the laptop market) branding, had conexant license the part so they could then buy it from them. Note the pci database listing compared to your vendor and device codes: pci vendor and device lists

so here is the real driver: A bit of rebranded ali code with a conexant inf...

I need the PnP ID for the device. Open Start, type devmgmt.msc and press enter. Expose the device you're having issues with and double click it. Choose the Details tab and then the Hardware Ids from the drop-down. Please post that data here.
