Solved Software to rotate a picture ?

May be a little late to the party ;) however I have found that PDFCreator Allows me much more control over PDF creation. This totally free Open source, (I believe), application works as a print driver, you simply use what ever windows application to create your document as you want it to look, In this case, as stated originally, you could use Powerpoint to rotate the image as needed.

When everything is correct you simply choose the print option for your application, select PDFCreator as your printer and produce a PDF file for further use elsewhere.

The driver also has output options to a wide range of graphics formats for manipulation inside a video editor if that is to be the final output media

This is a small add-on to windows that I find is one of my base install items, have been using it for many years without any issue :)

Bill,

Thank you for explaining how to send a private message. I am sure that Jerry does use a PDF Reader other than Nitro. He suggested Nitro PDF Reader because it is free and I had said that I really did not want to invest in new software. I asked about Nitro allowing manual rotating of images and exporting them as .jpg files because those are the two features I need. I could not find them in Nitro and thought Jerry might be able to tell me how to find them.

If Nitro will not export files as jpg, how do I convert my pdf chart to jpg? Paint.Net will not accept pdf files.

Here on this forum I get confused about how to reply to a specific post. Only the latest post seems to have a " Quick Reply" icon. So when I come to the forum and there are several messages I can only see to browse to the end of the thread and click on Quick Reply which the leaves my reply as the last entry in the thread, no where near the post I am replying to. I understand the logic of that but wonder where there is a way to reply right on an earlier post?

The quote above is of a post made by barman (always late to a party, always brings good stuff)
He mentions yet another PDF viewer. Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming the choices you have. Take it slow and enjoy what you're doing :D

Look at post# 41 Carver, Jerry posted and he also exported both pages for you.

I think you'll have to work outside the PDF viewer to rotate, but there shouldn't be a need to rotate. Where you might get frustrated is trying to rsize the image for a good presentation in the movie.

Replying to a specific post -> use the quote button on the post you want to reference / reply to.

Try a quoted reply with this post. Your post will still be at the end of the thread, but it has the text of the quoted post and a small orange link-back.

But no, not directly under the post you're replying.

It gets a little confusing, don't worry about it, members will figure out what you mean if you mention some key information or simply state I'm replying to post# xx.

Jerry,

Thanks for those new links. The jpg files you attached look very good. How did you get the program to produce them? I downloaded the new program and it ended up installing Nitro PDF Reader. Did I get my wires crossed.

My goal is to be able to manually rotate a pdf file to any desired position, and to export that pdf file as jpeg. I have not yet found out how to do that.

Thank you for staying with me on this.

Hey Jerry, I clicked on that quote button in your post# 44

It didn't do anything.

Sometimes when I grab a full window screen shot,
I forget to close it and wonder why nothing on my PC works any more.
I click the scrolls, and close buttons on the image..... it takes me a few seconds to figure it out.
I laugh at myself and go back to what I was doing.

Thank you for responding and for the link to a new PDF reader. My brain is getting a bit fuzzy trying to absorb all of the new information that I have been given here. My goal is to rotate an existing PDF file and then export it as a jpg file. I have not yet learned how to do that.

I have been able to rotate a pdf file exactly as I want it and save it as a jpg file in PowerPoint. However, when I used the resulting jpg file in Paint.Net it had been reduced in size, making the text too small to use in a video.

The software I linked to is not actually a PDF Reader, but a special type of PDF creator.

When installed the software creates a new Printer in your printers list

PDF Creator Devices.PNG

printing to this printer, from any application, rather than actually physically print creates a PDF file in a location you choose.

As it is also capable of producing graphical images, such as JPG or PNG it can easily be used to convert a PDF to a JPG, (or other format required)

To do this you would open your PDF in any reader you prefer and "print" it to the PDFCreator "printer", In the setting dialog you can then set JPG as the output, (and set size, resolution etc), and the image file will be created for import into your Movie

Hope this explains things :)

When installed the software creates a new Printer in your printers list

View attachment 303141

To do this you would open your PDF in any reader you prefer and "print" it to the PDFCreator "printer", In the setting dialog you can then set JPG as the output, (and set size, resolution etc), and the image file will be created for import into your Movie

Hope this explains things :)

Thank you. I downloaded and used PDF Creator and it did save the file as a jpg. So it does work and does what I hoped to be able to do. It did only save the first part of my PDF file as jpg and it says use this program to print jpg one at a time. DO I will puzzle with that a bit, but my problem seems to be solved. Thank you very much.

The program has a myriad of output options for all of it's output formats - it can take a little work to get things exactly how you need them, once you do get the output you need you can save them as a preset for future use.

I use it mostly for sending documents in PDF format to clients, (a PDF is a lot more secure from the client changing things that a DOCx or similar format), as it tends to be more flexible than the PDF output from applications such as word.
