Nar, can't do that. It's one thing to make recommendation to help someone with their decision or to solve their problem. A thread solely on that would be nothing more than spam and promoting pay for products, which is not allowed.

All SSDs will eventually slow down a tiny bit over time, but the Patriot Torqx has the TRIM features as well to help keep it from getting slow as quick. The drive has a 10 year warranty, and it has a MTBF 2,500,000 hours rating on it.

Well as I mentioned before, Intel and OCZ have (in their latest offerings) specific firmware to undo the "damage" causeb by multitudes of small writes to the array. So no, The intel and OCZ do not appretiativly slow down over time.

Ok they will a /little/ but the slowdown that is commonly referred to is a crippling slow down that most other SSDs out there do suffer from where the drive runs at like 1/10th it's original performance after heavy use. The later Intel X25Ms and the 2nd Gen do not have this problem. That's what sets the Intel and latest OCZ offerings apart from all the others and why after years of dealing with the horrible consequences of using SSDs at work for embedded systems, I was FINALLY able to see clear to buying an X-25M for my machine at home.

No slowdown in Windows7 with the device supporting the Trim command. But make sure the firmware really does.

For pure performance you can't beat the X-25E, but it's real high priced as well.

The X-25M G2 160GB is only a bit faster than the Patriot Torqx 128GB on readind, but a lot slower on writing. The Patriot is way better in price and warranty. Not sure about the X-25M G2 80GB, but it should be around the same speed as it's 160GB version.

I would go with the Patriot Torqx 128GB for performance vs price.

I have had mine for about 2-3 months. I cannot say enough good about it. I have experienced pure speed. That's it. I have had no down side yet. These are very nice drives.

- don't ever buy any 1st generation SSD's from OCZ

- they have a serious problem with the firm-ware drivers..
