Hi,

I have a asus P5Gc MX1333 motherboard, win7
I was entering a search into google when suddently the PC entered into a sleep mode, and I was unable to get the PC to wake up by any means, I had to push the power button, and reboot (it happens sometimes, I think its a pin on the motherboard that I forgot to pin back or that I put in the wrong place)

I had some opened video programs, and maybe shark007 codec was activated/started because one or 2 player was on pause, Kmplayer or maybe another video player opened like Cyberlink powerdvd
and firefox and chrome and Qbittorrent, etc etc

When the PC opened up again, Aero was missing "desktop windows manager" missing (when troubleshooting aero)

I uninstalled the NVIDIA drivers and installed them back , it did nothing for Aero

I did every trick I found on the internet that could lead to getting it back
Like, I did many things into CMD, it did not worked out (shutting down the service open it up again, go into the services section, no, I also did something into regedit, no

The desktop win manager is "activated" and set to auto, but its not working

It would be boring if I was forced to reinstall windows just because of Aero

Pleas help

Check Device manager and look for missing drivers (yellow alerts).

Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization and change the theme to a Windows Classic. Reboot and change back to Aero.

I would scan system drive for errors, also I think in the past I got positive for virus in shark007 codecs, maybe it was false positive, but I would scan computer for viruses as well if I was you. Is your system restore active? try that, going back before the incident. And I would really try to correct MB connectors, you can blow it or get crazy things like putting computer to sleep in the middle of work and corrupting HD.

Thanks for the reply Pete4,
To solve the problem I had to reinstall win7 and the problem was still there, so I realized I should go into windows update and get the basic nvidia drivers and after that upgrade on the evga website for the latest driver I could get.
That was it.
Megahertz07 was right about the driver in device manager (I did not noticed at first because it was labeled as unknown device, I should have checked closer)
Thanks guys
