I agree with devlin again on the above. When you have very limited ram and limited cpu; the ability to run several things at once can be very hard to do. I would try to see if you can get more ram in your system and possibly consider upgrading the cpu as well because it will definitely give a much better ability to run more programs without them freezing.

? :what:

His specs do not effect him at all trying to run malwarebytes or utorrent. He has 2 gigs of ram.

His machine is still very infected and needs to be cleaned.

He can ether format and lose everything-or backup his infected files and then format. In my opinion he should clean his computer up first of infections, and then format his pc and reinstall. This way he knows his actual files are not infected. This way he also does not reinfect himself again.

I have asked someone to take a look at this thread.

Yes... I think I'm going to do this...the best solution so far, IMO... :)

Takenoshin,

Might be wrong, but IMO your problem may stem from a pending issue with MSE, epp.msi, and some corrupt entries in Windows Installer registries.

Please download SystemLook:
32-bit:
http://jpshortstuff.247fixes.com/SystemLook.exe
Save to your Desktop.

Double-click on SystemLook.exe to run the program.
At the SystemLook program console, copy the content inside the following quote box into the main text field (do not include the word Quote):

:filefind
Microsoft Antimalware
:folderfind
Microsoft Antimalware
:regfind:
Microsoft Antimalware
:service
Microsoft Antimalware
MsMpSvc

Click the Look button to start the scan.
When finished, a notepad window opens on the Desktop with the results of the scan.

:ar: Please post the SystemLook.txt in your reply.

My apology for the inconvenience!

SystemLook did find Microsoft Antimalware in files/folders, so let's see how we do with the Registry.

I'm trying to fix issues on my Windows 7 Home Basic 32-bit since last week.

Was there a virus involved? Have a name?

What was done before MSE would no longer update?

It appears that MSE did not uninstall with the MS FixIt. Its service, although stopped, is still present. There is a task established to run MSE. There are all sorts of files/folders and Registry entries for MSE remaining...

Not good.

Nope, there's no virus... What I'm fixing was the update errors on Windows (MSE)... and I decided to remove the MSE because there's an error when you update it. Unfortunately, I can't uninstall the MSE (another error with epp.msi). I've removed it using regedit, MSE is now uninstalled, and I installed BitDefender instead. And now my Windows is up to date but some programs doesn't run. Even Gadgets doesn't show.
