Sony VAIO Laptop Charging Problem, Help Please.

My sony vaio laptop PCG- 61317L, when i plugged it in to charge, the battery icon starts blinking but it says "plugged in, charging" also the charging LED is blinking orange. When the PC is off the charging LED is fine and battery charge fine also.
What can be the problem? any help?

and how do i add a video so you can see the problem?

I would say when the icon is blinking, it is "plugged in, charging", it really mean charging the battery.
In my case, it is not blinking and i cannot switch on the laptop.
So, in your case it mean fine.
Whereas my Sony icon is not blinking and refuse to be turn on, as i had to remove the battery before turn on.

When the PC is off and the power adapter is connect to main power, the icon say it is charging, as what you mentioned.

In other word, i am having a problematic Sony Vaio laptop, not you.
It keep telling me the battery need to be replaced.

When mine is plugged in, it not charging tho. the battery keeps running down, i have to shut the PC down and left it to charge up again which is the only way, it wont charge while its on, even when it says "plugged in charging". its like your plugging it in and out really fast.

Hmmm

So this Sony laptop is using;

Priority 1. Battery

Priority 2. Main adapter power.

If Off, and the main adapter power is ON, it charge the battery, if light is indicated.

Battery is Full, no lights.


No wonder the battery is so bad.
As it tell me to get a new battery.

Even HDD can be locked, as the person who sold me this told me today.
I have to bring to him to unlock the HDD.

This is why i cannot swap the HDD to another HDD &or SSD.
Being doing that for few days.
As i see him, he told me about this lock.

May update you on how to unlock and lock the HDD, to prevent swapping of HDD.
