Please help. Whenever I switch on my Sony Vaio laptop this error appears-
Windows Boot Manager

Windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. (Which i dont have)
2. Choose your language settings, and then click 'Next'.
3. Click 'Repair Your Computer'

If you do not have this disc contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance .

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because required device is inaccessible.

Enter- Continue ESC- Exit

Can someone please explain me the reason and how to fix it.

Welcome to the forums kashmeenabora!

I can't give you a "reason" but this should fix your problem. I'm linking you to a tutorial on a repair install, you can get a iso file of your version of windows from a link in it. Just get/use that to do a repair install.

You will need access to a working computer. You can't use a friends or the library's? It doesn't take long to get the .iso download.

Have you tried booting in safe mode? If so, you could try running a sfc/scannow to find and possibly repair any corrupted system files. If you haven't done that before, we have a tutorial on how its done. Just click on the link : http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

First reboot and tap the key given for BIOS Setup. Look through the tabs for Storage, SATA devices or Boot order and see if the hard drive registers anywhere. It may be only a serial number which when googled gives you the drive make.

If HD is detected then boot into Win7 installation media or System Repair Disk to run Startup Repair. Does it find an installation to repair. What does it report?

Everything else that can be done is here for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start including if necessary rescuiing your files to run Sony Factory Recovery or do the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is a vastly better Win7 than the preinstalled OS.
