Hello, I recently got my computer back from the repair shop. Apparently something was deleting registries or something, I'm not so good with computers. But anyways this happens to be the second time I've had to completely reinstall my computer. The first time the computer started crashing and having memory dumps for no apparent reason.

This time however, I'm still having trouble. I recently bought a new graphics card because my games were still glitching out (Sounds were stretching and the game was freezing constantly). Now I have another problem. My headset (Which is a Turtle Beach X1) is having a problem that I had when I first built the computer. I can't get it to where the microphone will work and the sound will work at the same time. I have three places to plug my stuff in. The back of the tower (Nothing works when I plug it in back there). The top of my tower (The microphone works but the sound doesn't). And finally, my keyboard (The sound works but the microphone doesn't). Before I got my computer back from the shop, I had it set up so that the sound would come from the speakers and the the microphone from the top of the computer. This was the only way I could get both. Now the speakers don't seem to produce sound anymore. I can't stretch the cords to each place so I need a different solution.

Those didn't help either. It just told me stuff I already know. "Your headset is unplugged". Um, no it isn't but apparently the computer can't recognize it no matter where I put it :/.

Some more info would be helpful if you can fill it in for your system specs.

A few questions:

What kind of Computer are we talking about? Pre-built?

What type of sound card do you have, or is it the integrated (onboard) audio?

What type of connection does your headset use? USB?

When you say you re-installed windows after the troubles, how exactly was it re-installed.
