As the title states, I seem to intermittently lose sound all together. The machine will run fine for 3-6 days, and then it will suddenly lose sound. Like someone hit the mute switch, but no one did. I have searched for an answer within all the running programs.. Even killing all the running programs and going back to just the basic desktop, but still, no good. This same phenomenon used to happen back in my Vista days as well, with this same PC.. Then, when I installed Win 7, the problem went away, that is until about 2 weeks ago. It has happened 3-4 times over the last 2 weeks.
Sound card is an M-Audio Delta 2496. They do not have a Specific Windows 7 driver, and I doubt they ever will. Took a year for them to get a Vista Driver..
