Source of up-to-date drivers

Even though Windows Update may fail to find them many newer drivers for Windows 7 are available for manual download at the Microsoft Update Catalog website if you manually search for them. You'll need to use IE to use the site. I found WDDM 1.1 drivers for my Intel G33 graphics that were newer than what I could find anywhere else. Go to Microsoft Update Catalog to search.

I am trying to download the recommended drivers from there but I keep getting errors, and it is extremely slow.....

It's preliminary, yes. But I can't find WDDM 1.1 drivers *anywhere* else!

Neither can I _ however, with nVidia drivers, they are the *exact* same drivers (albeit a bit older) as they have previously released - so I don't feel uncomfortable using nVidia drivers directly from nVidia. If previous drivers for Vista are working in W7, then it can be *assumed* that later ones will as well....

WDDM 1.1 drivers have numerous advantages over WDDM1.0 so this is why I'm looking for them specifically: Microsoft Windows 7 Next-Gen Graphics - DWM and WDDM 1.1 - OS, Software & Networking by ExtremeTech

Yeah - but I take it on faith that nVidia drivers (and my mobo and video cards are both (all 3) based on nVidia chips, so....

I am in a good spot right now
