Hello, I recently installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

My ping to a very close server is 300+

My upload and download speed are both under 1mbs..

I have Optimum Online, and they are very fast. When I had Windows Vista, and Windows XP, my ping to the same close server would always be under 30. My download and upload speed would always be around 10mbs..

Can somebody please help me? I can't play any online games without lagging/warping or even getting through a game without everyone running in place and getting disconnected from the server.

(I already disabled IPv6, but it didn't fix my in-game ping/lag problem)

we could use models on you cable modem, router, and wifi cards

Thanks in advance

Make sure the NIC driver is up-to-date and certified for use with Win7.

If that doesn't help, test what happens when you uninstall (not just disable) any anti-virus and 3rd-party firewall utilities which you're currently using.

Hi hi. I made a thread before (nobody answered). I have dsl cable, router (model Shiro DSL805EU), I'm from Azerbaijan, Baku city. My speed should be 2mb but i can only download at 10-20kb/s. On XP it was perfect. Now i don't know what to do :( I enabled limit bandwidth and set it up to "0", disable IPV6, installed driver (tried from Gigabyte website (because of my motherboard) and then tried from Realtek website (new for W7)..Don't know..Don't have AV programms right now. Tried to disable Windows firewall...but nothing helped. Cannot be virus because i've installed it i tried to download iTunes and i downloaded for nearly 40-50 mins o_O (on xp it was like 5-8 min max). :(
