GOOD NEWS! I've solved it. As a last-ditch attempt before selling my components and scrapping the laptop, I decided to try to reinstall Windows Vista - a last resort option, but an option never-the-less - and it worked! I obviously had to ... DOWNDate the drivers as the Windows 7 drivers weren't even showing up in Vista as existent, but it's working. Vista is better than safe mode... I guess. :P

Although the core hardware requirements were met for the Windows 7 upgrade, there must be some sort of Windows 7 incompatibility for the Amilo XI 2528. Come to think of it, I probably should have reinstalled Vista earlier, but obviously I was reluctant to do so.

EDIT: I'll start a new thread in the Audio section as my speakers are VERY quiet. They were just as quiet in Windows 7 but I was more concerned with the BSODs. They were pretty loud for built-in speakers when I had the original OEM Vista. They messed up as soon as I upgraded to 7 and they've stayed messed up when I reinstalled Vista. I've went into playback devices -> properties and checked the 'levels' which are all on maxed and obviously set the volume as max. However, when I TEST the speakers, it plays sound normally, but if I play iTunes or Youtube or something it's barely audible.

Hey, guess what, it's broken again. Lasted almost a week and I've approved all of the updates and it's been booting normally up until now. The most recent updates (I think it may have been a service pack) have lead to blue screens EVERY time I try to boot once again. When I get home I'll try to remove the service pack and see if that fixes the issue. If not, we're back to suspecting the graphics card. As you said, it's a PITA to replace components in a laptop, and I'll probably end up making matters worse if I try to replace the graphics card by breaking the bracket or something.
