ssd intel or samsung

Hi all just want to ask if I am getting a 2nd ssd is it best to get the same one that you have I have a intel520 ssd But I was looking at the Samsung evo crucial m4 and m500 or shold I just keep it intell?

Samsung mate without hesitation have tried most of them unfortunately not Intel but the Samsung has great back services.

Intel uses either a SandForce or a Marvel controller, depending on the series. Sandforce has had a bad track record and Marvel's reputation is a bit less than stellar. Samsung uses their own controller which has an excellent reputation.

It is ok to mix them as long as they aren't being used in a RAID.

As far as I am aware sandforce based SSDs work optimally in RAID config. Moreover it is not a good practice to mix brands while configuring RAID
