Do you plan a clean install or are you coping an image of your current drive? If a clean install which is what I suggest than load away, no trim needed.

Windows seven will take care of a good number of the drivers and then you can go through key components to grab latest drivers off the manufacturers support website if needed. This process is not to be rushed but really should go quickly without tons of applications as you mentioned. W7 will walk you right through it and that's the key. Once loaded completely is when the fun starts as it's as if Santa has brought you a new more powerful computer while you slept.

When you get your Intel SSD it should have a CD with setup software including a transfer program and the tool box program. just follow the instructions and you will be fine. Worked for me.
