I recently noticed my DELL OPTIPLEX was sluggish in booting up & shutting down. I swapped out the DATA (not system) hard drive for an identical model & it boots fine. So I reconnected the DATA drive to retrieve some data & noticed the data transfer rate was far less than 1 Mb/s. Is this an indicator that the drive is TANKING?
BTW:
SEAGATE Barricuda 7200.12 750 Gb
Should I try a different SATA port or possibly I inadvertently changed a setting in BIOS to affect the communication rate? Suggestions?
