Start Menu Position.

Is it possible to adjust the position of the start menu?

When the task is at the bottom, the start menu starts above the task bar.

Likewise, when the taskbar is at the top the start menu starts below the task bar.

When you run full screen or auto hide you can quickly see what you have running by pressing the windows key on the keyboard.

When you position the task bar on the left, or on the right, it "mounts" on top of the bar, blocking the running applications, and in the case of my netbook (1024x600) the system tray and clock.

Is this in the registry somewhere I can change the coordinates of where it positions itself?

Also is it possible to make the taskbar thinner when it's on the left side?

To make it thinner only thing I can think of is to use small icons....But I am not sure if the Start menu can be repositioned or not...

Setting small icons only makes the individual items shorter, the width stays the same =/.

It does if the taskbar is at the top or bottom, just not the sides.

I think they changed the limitation on the size of the taskbar on the latest build 7077. I'm now able to make it a little more narrow. Maybe 10 or so pixels.
