I have loved my Windows 7 machines since I upgraded on launch day, but just last night, something went wrong.
When powering up, it runs as expected through the HP screen then prompts me as to which OS I want to launch (I have Ubuntu, 7 pro 64 and a XP option, but the XP doesn't work). If I pick 7, it will propt again if I want to atempt a startup repair or launch normally. Ignoring startup repair for a moment, when it launches normally, it will get to the "starting windows" screen, display the text and do nothing. After a while, for some reason, it will kick out of that and boot ubuntu.
If I try and repair startup, it will sit in the repair screen for hours, without doing anything.
I have heard it was related to a update, but my netbook is running 7, too (home premium 32) and hasn't had the same issue.
What should I be trying next?
