Solved Startup folder modifications

How can I modify the apps that are started during bootup? I used to use a Windows app but I have forgotten the program name. Can you help?

What do you mean by modify?
You can use a program called Autoruns to control what programs start.

Autoruns is very complicated and does a lot more. The program I had in mind only listed the programs started during boot. Any ideas?

What about the built in system configuration?

Just type msconfig in start menu search, it has a startup tab.

And..... in Program Files is your Startup folder.
Open that and you can remove things you don't want starting and add things that you do want to start with boot-up.

I've added several things to my own Startup folder, like a Temp file Cleaner, Instant Restore Point, and my email program.

Are you sure about that location?

I don't have that in Program Files in 7 or 10.

I have it here,

C:\Users\derek\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Easier to access by using run or start menu search with this shell:startup
