Startup repair help

Hello everyone. I Have a new asus laptop K53S seriss running win7 home premium 64bit (not completely certain that its 64bit) I has been running fine past months/weeks until today when I was trying to connect it to my TV via VGA cable (I have done it before) but today I had to keep restarting my computer with the on button (kept going black screen on both) until my computer started doing chkdsk (dunno what it does) so I let run 2-3 times then I tried doing safe mode in an attempt to get past it, then my computer just went to startup repair and tried doing system restore but nothing works just keeps going to startup repair, no matter how much times I try, I've tried doing safe mode, low resolution mode, last good configuration etc, but nothing seems to work, just same thing startup repair everytime. So can you please help, any help will be greatly apreciated thank you.

btw, I created a AI recovery backup (Asus thing) not sure how to use. I don't want to use it unless completely necessary because I want to keep tbe stuff I have on there. I have to use my phone to write this. Thanx again.

Couple of things to try. First, see if you can restore your computer to an earlier date/time prior to when these issues first appeared.

If that doesn't help, check for any damaged or corrupt system files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found run the scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan.

Then try running the startup repair again.

And finally, if this doesn't fix things you might consider a repair install. This will try to repair the entire Windows 7 while still preserving your user accounts, data, programs, system drivers, etc. In order to do a repair install you must use the same edition Windows 7 installation disc for the same edition of Windows 7 that you have installed. You cannot use an OEM Windows 7 "Factory" Restore/Recovery type of installation disc that came with or was created from a store bought computer. These can only be used do a clean install which would erase everything from the hard drive.

If a repair install doesn't fix things you probably won't have any other option but to use those recovery disks and return your machine to factory specifications. Or for an even better experience without all the factory bloatware you might want a clean install. Before doing a recovery or clean install you'd need to back up all of your data.
