Recently I just finished my first build and now i have been getting lots of bsod. Some were due to incompatible ram which is now fixed and replaced. The others are all on booting up. Today i had 24, 7e, 1e and 7e again before it booted correctly. 24 is probably the most common one ive gotten and from the other error codes likely the source of the problem

the 24 error code read

0x00000024 (0x00000000001904fb, 0xfffff880009a7c58, 0xfffff880009a74c0, 0xfffff80002cca28f)

-os is windows 7 ultimate 64bit - upgraded from windows vista 64 alienware disks
-build from scratch. bought parts at microcenter

im running the hd test now but before i even started the tester it said it found your hard drive and to select it to begin testing..etc. on the line to select the hd it said "ati sb700 ide PRIMARY SLAVE". i only have one hd and installed it stright from the box. im going to check to make sure its in the correct configuration once the testing is done.. so far so good.

if it is working as a slave would that lead to all my troubles?

Ignore that warning for now.
Lets see how the tests work out.

tests said it works fine. one the hard drive there are no connecting pins. The small manual it comes with says that no pins sets it as slave and connecting ab sets it as master.

i cant remember if it came w/ a pin in it and i took it out or it just didnt come w/ one

As you see there can be many causes in addition to Hard Drive. I think if we start with these two we may solve the problem.
Uninstall your current Anti Virus and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials.
www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
Test your hard drive at the manufacturers website.

Download memtest86 and test RAM

current antivirus is Microsoft security essentials. windows defender is be turned off. The hd website had a download for a bootable disk that checks the hd and it said it passed

I ran one pass with wmd (windows memory diagnostic) since i had the disk laying around and it passed. I will run more extensive tests with memtest tomorrow. Not sure if wmd worked for me this time since it read me

"..wmd could not process the system memory map. this occured because of deficiencies within wmd, not the computer. as a resualt, not all of the computer memory will be tested. the specific problem was: the memory map contained ranges that extended above four gigabytes.

ill run more passes tomorrow with memtest since its getting late, but one pass said it was fine.
so far in the morning when i turn it on ill get 4 or 5 blue screens before a successful boot and i don't want to cause any permanent damage. once i do get it up and running with a good boot it seems fine and restarts fine. its like long periods of time cause the bsod? - didnt think to mention that if it helps any sorry

tomorrow ill run more test and update any stop messages if i get any. with any luck all this running around will help.

thank you so very much

Your welcome. That memorytest has to be run for at least 6 passes. Overnight is suggested.

No need for more mini dumps until the memory test is done. We will reanalyze at that juncture.

Ok update these old drivers and then post any new Dump reports. It often takes several reports to get a handle on this thing

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- The most common drivers are listed on this page: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html
To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper
www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

After performing all of the above, post back with any new BSOD reports, or indicate that the attempted repairs were successful.
If any links do not work, if clicked, please copy and paste to browser address bar.

i believe ive updated those drivers. do i allow driver cleaner to clean every driver? from the looks of the software it looks like it removes all driver updates (i know thats the idea). does it only leave the most recent then?

For now, just be sure that the two named drivers are updated. If you get BSOD again, we will go from there.
2006 is the most recent for jogo or you updated since?
You can see just what you have
