Stop Windows from logging off

I am trying to run Ad-Aware and other Ant-Spy ware scans. Before they can finish running Windows keeps logging me off. How can I turn this feature off?

Is it logging off or going to sleep?

If sleep,control panel>hardware and sound>change when computer sleeps>adjust accordingly.

I don't see "hardware and sound" under control panel

or type "sleep" in start menu search field
