Solved Strange issue when adding a folder to a library

Ok, I have selected the option "Leave the Homegroup". I have Network Discovery off, File & Print Sharing off, Public Folder Sharing off, Media Streaming at it's default, 128-bit encryption enabled, Password Protected Sharing on & Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections and we are selected as a Home network. I hope this provides extra detail that may shed some light on why my original problem is happening. Thanks so much!

That should stop you from sharing on the network. Are you still fine now, and do not have the drive letter at the end of the folder name?

All the standard libraries are doing fine, Documents, Pictures, Music & Videos are fine but I still cannot create a custom library and include a newly created folder in it without it tacking the C: on the end of the description. Also, shouldn't all folders you create have a "Location" tab in them? Any non-system folders in my user account do NOT have a Location tab. Thanks!

Only your default user and public folders would have the location tab. Any you create would not since they are only a folder.

I'm not sure this will help, but since it involves the libraries, you might see if downloading and merging the .reg file for the library option in the tutorial below may be able to help.

No go, that didn't help either. I don't suppose it would matter that the folders I'm trying to include were restored from an online backup service CrashPlan? Could it have changed some type of permissions or something. Also, when I add a non-standard folder such as "FOLDER" to a system library like Documents it also adds the C: to it if that's any help.

Ok. At first, I thought that those folders may have had a drive letter assigned to them by being mapped with the subst command or some other method.

However, after doing more testing with this, it must have changed. I don't remember it having a drive letter next to the name of any folder added to be included in a library before, but it appears that this is normal now. I get the same thing as well.

Go figure, but you have nothing to worry about. It's not just you.

If I may. Can this new added drive litter to these new folders just be Windows 7 way of indicating to the user which partition the new created folder is stored? I can see where that could be handy.

Yes. The true location of the added/included folder is exactly what that indicates. I agree that it can be quite helpful instead of having to look in properties to find out.
