My laptop is unable to connect via both wireless and wired (to the same network), whenever I attempt to connect the laptop gets stuck on identifying network and doesn't continue. I am currently on a desktop connected to the same network with complete internet access.

Here is the ipconfig/all from the laptop. If anymore information is needed I will gladly provide it.

Code:
C:\Users\computer>ipconfig/all

Carbonshock mate have you checked in the Device Manager for any yellow triangles against the appropriate devices that will indicate a problem?

In addition to what ICit2lol can you try the following and post your IPconfig when in Safe Mode with Networking:

169.254.xxx.xxx is an autoconfiguration IPv4 address. Can you please temporarily disable any anti-virus and firewall applications and then test connectivity as these could be the cause.

Also can you please boot the machine into safe mode with networking and test connectivity to remove the possibility of a third party application being the cause.

Follow this tutorial (OPTION ONE ONLY) - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html

   Note
Please replace all references of 'Safe Mode' with 'Safe Mode with Networking'

Just booted up my laptop to try both of these things and it has miraculously started to work again. Should I mark this thread as solved?
