Hi ElectroBricks welcome to Seven Forums :)

Firstly, have you messed around with any services, tried to "tweak" your OS, used any registry cleaning programs etc? If the answer is no, then try this;

First try starting the service manually: Type "Services" into the Start Menu, click the one that has a little Cog next to it. (top result on mine) when you get that list of services come up, scroll down until you find "Superfetch" Right click it and click "Start"

If that doesn't work, or if it isn't there then try:

Open an elevated command prompt (Right click>Run as Administrator) and type:
Code:
SFC /scannnow
Post back with results

Do you have an SSD (solid state drive)?

Windows should disable Superfetch on an SSD automatically. If you have a HDD (normal hard drive) then it should be on. (but you already knew that)

The only other solution I can find, if it is a HDD is to try a Repair Install (warning: will only work if you DONT have SP1 installed) http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html Other than that, may need a reinstall I'm afraid.

Yes, i had the same problem (I have reinstalled windows a few time recently (new harddrive), the same problem arises (must be a conflict with the software I use) ! I solved this today!
Download and install TweakPrefetch form Major Geeks!
Install and run the program! Click-->Clear Prefetch--> switch prefetch to Disabled-->leave Superfetch on Applications and Boot-->Click Apply-->Restart Computer-->hey presto Your Superfetch is fixed!

I noticed right away that windows and my startup applications load quickly! Ive tried restarting my PC and restarting Superfetch multiple times--> I no longer get the Error 2!!!!

From this we now know the problem lies with Prefetch! Using this information hopefully someone will come up with a solution where both can be switched on! Do both even need to be switched on?
