In your case the install is probably your best bet. Portable is for when you want to take the browser along with your bookmarks, history and extensions with you on a thumb drive for use on multiple computers. Supermium is the only truly portable Chrome-based web browser, no other modern Chrome browsers (Chrome, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi etc.) are portable anymore.
