Solved svchost.exe -k netsvcs Slowing Down Computer

It told me that it had failed to configure changes, and that it would revert them.
I can't check the code because I can't remember the time...
But I'll try the Readiness tool tomorrow and see how that goes.

I think I've actually pinpointed the problem: iphlpsvc.
I looked further into the svchost process with process explorer and found a thread in iphlpsvc to take 47%+ CPU.
I've suspended it and my computer has been working so much faster now.
I'll see how this works for the next day, and if I'll have to keep manually suspending it.

The IP helper service is responsible for providing IPv6 connectivity over an IPv4 network - if you don't want/need this, you can just disable the service.

Alright, well everything seems to be working fine after disabling iphlpsvc.
So thanks to everyone who helped!

It might be fixed for now, but the root issue here is your disabling of windows updates. That's not wise to do in any situation, unless the computer will never be connected to a network. If it were me, I would do a complete fresh install on the machine with all available windows updates. I don't think you've seen the last of your problems with this, particularly since you still cannot install SP1.

I support the above advice.
