l have been continuing to keep my issue under investigation, and l have definitely have found the process which seems to be the main one that causes my CPU spikes while idle, and with process explorer l managed to get a minidump of that specific process (which l hope helps), tho lm pretty sure the service in question deals with with networking and it happens to be the larger of the svchost services (tho l did notice that before the issue the said svchost file was around 70meg, after noticing it had grown to around 150meg and lm unsure if it has done it since)

In process explorer, select the svchost process, right click and select "Go to service(s)" at the bottom. That highlights the subset of services under that particular host process. If it's that big it probably hosts a bunch of them, including network, audio etc? .. check drivers for the ones that are irregular or just try disabling services that show up there that you don't need in services.msc

from what l see from the services within all are needed, the svchost in question seems to run superfetch, wireless, program compatibility, some random networking services, and the session manager.. all in all 11 services run under it, l had thought about disabling tasks but l dont see a reason to disable superfetch at least not with 8gb of ram as lve never used it all.. others seem sorta required as well.

My advice is unless necessary, do not tamper. The OS and computer were designed by experts in the field to provide the best possible performance.

sometimes l wonder... but l agree with your sentiments, but lm sure like me sometimes regardless of if you plan on tweaking things to perform better or avoid errors just occasionally there is something that crops up that you just want to know rather than tweak because you know there is little else you can do to it.

You probably do not have a problem. You have a situation that you can choose to ignore or change. There is probably nothing wrong with your computer.

Granted, there might not be anything "wrong", however what you say reminds me of numerous famous last words..

I found this page quite informative regarding W7 services, set aside some time and use the "tweaked" section as a guideline, if in doubt use "safe". Alternatively programs like this simplifies things a lot as well as explaining in plain words what each feature does.
