System freezing (7 Pro 64-Bit)

The issue re-ocurred when I got my Spyware Detector software up and running. I have informed the company. They were not able to provide an immediate resolution so I uninstalled the software and everything is working normally this morning. I installed Spybot which I had on the PC of my home network (also with Windows 7). It works fine on both machines.

My PC was crash-free last night running two sticks of RAM (4 GB total). If it makes it through the weekend then I'll be pretty confident it was something about having all 4 stick of RAM in my PC. Then I'll have to decide if it's worth my time to figure out exactly why it doesn't like all 4 sticks at once...

JJ, great, thanks for the feedback. You might want to search the System Security thread (or post your problem with your Spyware) for other recommended programs

HM, keep us posted. When you are done (and confirmed) I suggest you mark the thread as solved (right upper corner, report icon, state solved) since both problems will then be solved

I suspect this is the case, because I got dump files when the driver for my Garmin Forerunner 205 acted up. That caused a BSOD.

It looks like someone else already reported this as solved. Regardless, for everyone's info, I haven't had a crash since I removed some of my RAM. Still not sure yet why the machine doesn't like all 4 sticks in (since the two I removed was the RAM I used when I had XP, so it's unlikely it's bad), but that's an issue to deal with at some point in the future.

Was XP 32 or 64 bits? 64bits seems to be more picky regarding memory.

XP 32-bit. I never had all 4 sticks in when I was running XP, so I simply don't know what it would've done.
