Solved system image create disk

These system image create disks look like they need to go to a DVD-R or RW. Can one create a vhd file or something to link? I have a USB DVD-RW but in my machine is a DVD-R. Do I have to get out the USB DVD unit? Or is there another way to create this?

If your talking about a disk image you can write it to anything hd, DVD, USB if you want to make a vhd for virtual PC you can boot the image software inside a virtual PC and write it to virtual disk

I go to control panel and backup and restore. In windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Is says create a restore disk or something like that. I can get it to do this with a USB stick?

Your better using a free clone tool as windows backup has lots of problems and often doesnt work
