Hi, I have this super old laptop passed down to me by my dad (Lenovo G450) and have been using it for the past 3 months. However, after around 1 and a half month of using, my laptop starts to slow down a lot. O checked Task Manager and found out that System is using 50% of my CPU for no apparent reason. This happens very randomly. Also probably not important but whenever I try to shut down Windows 7 while System is clogging the CPU, it will be stuck at "shutting down" then eventually a blue screen pop up, and the whole thing just boots up again. (I probably still have the log but I'm on my phone atm)
I tried using Kernrate to track down whatever is clogging my CPU and i found out that whenever System was taking half of my CPU, i would notice that hal.dll was very active compared to when my laptop was normal.
I've tried many solutions online and nothing have worked so far, can anyone help me find out the root of this issue please? It's been going on for over a month now and I'm very desperate to fix it as I have other stuff to do with it
