System keeps freezing at normal boot after 3-5 minutes

Im new here so im sorry if this isn´t the correct place to post this.

So lately this is what´s been happening, everytime i boot in normal mode i wait for the progams and things to load up but everything seems so slow and after some minutes after i click on something to do anything the pc simply freezes, no Blue screen of death. It just freezes and i can´t control the cursor anymore,

I´ve tried waiting for like 30 minutes but it just stays there forever, only solution is to switch off the laptop on the button.

Im writing this in safe mode with networking and that´s how i have been able to use my laptop lately(in safe mode) because like i said before, it just won´t work right on normal mode.

I runned sfc/scannow and it said that no violations were detected, but for some reason i can´t open the CBS.log file to show to you, i typed findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt in the cmd but it won´t open the file, im not sure if im doing it the right way.

I would like you too tell me what information you need because im new here and im not sure, i have my system specs info in my profile if you need.

When did you last:

Do a thorough anti-virus scan?

Anti-malware scan?

Look at processes in Task Manager?

Look at Resource Monitor within Task Manager?

Look at the startup tab in msconfig?

Look at non-Microsoft services in the services tab of msconfig?

-Not sure when was the last time i did the anti-virus or ant-malware scan but it was some time ago(3 or months ago i guess). I can do it in safe mode with network, right? Sorry for this noobish questions.

-Its says there is 30 processes running, 6 of them are from Internet explorer, then we have:

Then there´s the rest if i press the checkbox to show the processes from all users(i only use 1).

-CPU usage is low,, not passing the 20%(most of the time lower than 10%) mark and physic memory usage is at 68%.

You have a relatively weak CPU, so you can't expect miracles.

Having said that:

Yes, run an anti-virus scan any way you can.

I'd also go to Malwarebytes.org and download Malwarebytes (free version) and run it, if you have not already.

How many processes total when you select "show processes from all users"?? More than 60 or 70 would be getting toward excessive.

Re: non-Microsoft services: you have quite a few checked. I have 12 on my PC. You've got 5 related to AVG alone. I'd uncheck any not related to AVG and see if things improve. You can always re-check them later.

Is that Trend stuff also anti-virus? If so, you shouldn't have both AVG and Trend running. They may conflict with each other.

Re: startup programs. I'd uncheck any other than anti-virus and see if things improve. You can recheck them later if you find some functionality goes away.

I have only 6 things checked on the startup tab of msconfig. Five from Intel or Microsoft and 1 from Malwarebytes. Most of that stuff will run on demand and doesn't have to be running all the time.

Looks like you also have Spybot and something called Vportect, as well as Trend. Do these duplicate each other?

Around 16, 8 of them are svchost.exe.

To tell you the truth i have no idea, this pc was from my brother and he gave it to me, i don´t know what he did with it.

Things seem better right now. Im already able to to boot in normal mode and no freezes occurred since i did these last changes( disable some non-microsoft services and start-up progams, did a AVG scan and Spy bot search and destroy scan.

Malwarebytes will NOT interfere with any other standard anti-virus.

The free version runs ONLY on demand, which means that it can REMOVE malware, but it will not PREVENT malware from landing on your PC.

If you want to PREVENT malware from entering your PC, you need to buy the paid version--about $25 per year.

I'd settle on exactly one standard anti-virus and remove all others. Microsoft Security Essentials is OK, free, and used by many here--in conjunction with Malwarebytes. Other common choices are Avast, AVG, and Kapersky--either free or paid. But don't use two, use one.

I'm not sure if Spybot will interfere with anti-virus or Malwarebytes. Maybe not. You might keep it, but keep only one anti-virus.

Continue to monitor processes, services, and do periodic scans with the free Malwarebytes if you don't buy the paid version.

Yeah, it's fine. Set it to run automatically on any standard spinning hard drive (not SSDs) perhaps once a week.
