Task Manager Doesn't Open/Appear

Hi..

I have a problem with my Task Manager.

I tried everything to open it. Ctrl+Alt+Del , Ctrl+Shft+Esc, Right-Clicking in the Task Bar, Search and Clicking taskmgr.exe, %systemroot%, still Task manager doesn't open.

I've read something about enabling it through regedit but there's no Disable Taskmgr entry in my HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
I don't know why.
i just download a task manager fixer that will enable it, it prompt that it is enable but then again, task manager still doesn't appear..

Run a full system scan. Check for malwares and spywares in your PC.

Try the obvious first: Go to C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-taskmgr_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_16699919077609d2
Double click on it. That should open Task Manager, If it doesn't the file is corrupt so run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Which fixer did you use?

@therealaitch It still does not open the Task Manager. I will try the SFC /SCANNOW Command.

Can you do a system restore or restore from a previous backup?

Task manager exe is located in more than one place, try the one here.
"C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe"

There seems to be no help on the web for this but I'm still looking for a solution. I love a challenge.

I tried C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe also. Still doesn't work..
I think I've tried everything? ))

I did the sfc/scannow it's not successful..

Try the Microsoft Fix it.
Microsoft Fix it Solution Center: troubleshooting software issues Then, Select Windows. All Windows problem areas.
It won't take long and just maybe.

If not you may have to resort to a re-install. This can be done without losing your data. This link is to one of many tutorials on the subject. Reinstall Windows 7 or Vista Without Formatting - YouTube
If you do not have the installation disc you can download the ISO file here: [Direct Download Links] Download Genuine Windows 7 RTM with SP1 ISO (32-bit and 64-bit) - Tweaking with Vishal
You will need your product key. If you don't know it download Speccy - System Information - Free Download . It's only a small application, and useful anyway. Run it and your product keys are revealed.
I have done this myself without problems but backup your important data to be safe.
Just a last thought, sometimes sfc/ scannow needs to be run 3 times to solve the problem. Do that first.

Your OS is Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit ?

Gsel, can you confirm your operating system. What you have tried so far would be the same for Vista or 7. If Vista, ignore my last post.

Jacee, Yes. Vista Home premium 32 bit

I also tried the solution provided by Microsoft (attached).

First: My computer doesn't have a virus.
Second: On the regedit, there's no DisableTaskMgr in the options.
Third: I tried to search for gpedit.msc and no results found.

I'm using IoBit Advance SystemCare Ultimate and use the Process Manager there but I sill want to fix this Task Manager issue..

I also run SFC but it always stops at 80%..
