tdx.sys causing BSOD - Fixed!

I am also having this problem with tdx.sys

Here are the specs to my system
This System Is Custom Built..Here are the specs
Pentium D 3.2ghz
Asus P5B-VM SE MOtherboard
4 gig memory
Nvidia 8600gt
Windows 7 Dual Boot With XP Pro
Avg 8.0.23
Malware Bytes

I have tried uninstalling avg and malware bytes

I seemed to get the error when i try to listen to music off my fileserver
Other wise for the most part haven't had a problem but as all my movies and music are stored along with everything else makes it very difficult to do anything
I have debug info as well if anybody wants to look at it ill send it to them or post it...

Do you have other softwares that can control network?

I was wondering why it crash when you have uninstalled AVG and Malware Bytes.

I noticed it that NAS works ok if you don't have program that use tdx.sys installed.

Yea its really weird

I have file server on my network that is linux based and uses samba for network shares..If i try to listen or watch or browse files even on the fileserver i get the BSOD with tdx.sys listed as the filename that crashes and i really dont get why it is doing it..I have tried uninstalling both of them.I have tried updating the network drivers and all kinds of things but nothing seems to help it.No i dont have nay software installed on it that uses any networking software...Im just trying to get this resolved..I really like Windows 7 and would be real shame if I have to go back to XP do to this

I did make a little progress..I ended up putting avg 8.0 back on because i have to have some sort of Antivirus protection on Here...Under the resident shield section i turned off heuristics .....I so far i can listen to things and transfer files with no BSOD so far but hasnt been that long yet will post if they come back or not

Sadly I thought i had made some progress but unfortunately i just got another BSOD with the same error so back to square one again

I just started getting these as well today. I have Norton 360 installed, but doesn't seem to have 'anything' to do with anti-virus.

What changed in my setup was two things:

1) I bought a new Linksys WRT610N router. I did 'not' install any new drivers using my Windows 7 machine. However, using the same NIC card, it's now operating at the higher 1000 speed (was using a 100 network before)>

2) I saw the neat new feature to hang hard drives off the USB port on the router, so I put my external Maxtor over there, and setup a share.

Now, my XP Pro laptop has no issues with the share, but my Win 7 rig, when I keep a drive mapped to it, seems to cause the blue screen of death. When the drive is not mapped, I have no BSOD.

So maybe we'll get a nice "Sorry about giving you all blue screens of death with our next generation operating system using fun new slick hardware features that other third parties provide" patch soon? :huh:

Hope someone figures it out. I'm going to go poke around and see if there's a firmware upgrade to the router that settles my Windows 7 rig down.

Update: To be clear, I've been running the beta Win7 for 2 weeks now and have 'never' had this problem until I started playing with hanging that drive off the new router I installed today.

Lemmee tell you 'bout this here tdx.sys thang. Well, thee solution ain't the same fer everyone, unless we all runnin' the same rig. G-Man got on his surfboard an' surfed around the web fer a time, an what worx fer me is stoppin' that dang file sharin' and loadin' up a W7-compatible AV so-looshun.

I'm as stable now as that ol' mountain behind Ma's house.

tdx BSOD...My rig

I am still getting BSOD referencing tdx.sys. I don't have a fix, I just want to cover what I've tried...

Inspiron 1525;
T8300 Core Duo
4gbRam.
I have experienced this in both 32bit AND 64bit flavors. I am currently trying to troubleshoot this in 32bit.

What I've tried:
1) Switched from 64bit to 32bit
2) Switched AV from AVG Free to ESET NOD32 Pro
3) Updated from the precanned Wireless drivers to Dell Truemobile 1505
4) Changed from Dell TrueMobile 1505 driver to most-updated Broadcom Drivers via the Broadcom site

I felt compelled to post here because:
1) I TOO only experience the BSOD while connected to my DLINK DNS323 NAS
2) I have now experienced the BSOD connected via WIRELESS AND WIRED.

I love my home network but I only BSOD while connected to my NAS via Mapped Drives.

If it include any SW that use tdx.sys (Firewall and net limit options) then you most likely get BSOD when accessing NAS.

Im using Avira AntiVir Personal edition and Windows own Firewall and Defender before that issue with tdx.sys is fixed.

I've got the 1525 Inspiron as well and the DNS323. It seems as if the AV was the problem: I removed everything: all worked fine. The only AV I found working with the D-Link NAS is Avira Antivir. After having installed that I did not experience another bsod. Give it a try.

The same problem occured on my pc with a Lacie 1TB Networkspace drive. I uninstalled AVG Free 8.0 and installed Antivir and the problem seems to have disappeared. I do hope Microsoft and the Anti-Virus builders are aware of this problem and working on a solution.

I wanted to report back to this thread that since I took RembertRove's advice about using Avira Antivir as my AV solution, things appear to be good.

Since trying and uninstall AVG Free and ESET NOD32 Pro, I switched to Avira Antivir and I have not seen a BSOD yet.

All, there seems to be a hotfix for this. I just downloaded, and will report shortly...

yes there was patch for build 7000 in mid feb. However builds after 7048 have patch already implemented so no worrys in later builds
