TeamViewer

Hi guys,

I can't get Teamviewer 11 to install on my Win7-64 bit PC. Closed the antivirus, tried to run it as admin, downloaded it multiple times, but the setup just won't start.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Thanks, Daan

Hello Daan mate first up if you haven't done so already run these
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 - in safe mode

if that doesn't do anything try these

SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium
AdwCleaner Download
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans

and I would also be checking to see if the Windows firewall in the control panel was on or off.

Having said that Teamviewer really isn't that much of a threat I wouldn't have thought.

Ok now just where are you downloading it from and if that is not working have you tried going back a version?? anything is better than nothing. Maybe because it is the latest version it may have a few bugs yet to sort out.

The other thing that occurred to me is what browser are you using??

Okay, I used Chrome. When I use IE to download the same file, it installs normally. (Teamviewer 11 from their own site)

Weird.

Thank you!! Daan

No problems Daan that was a just a hunch from me as I was having problems downloading Libre Office using Chrome (and Kaspersky) to replace the Microsoft Office which the Microsoft ratbags would not let me transfer from the old laptop to the new one.

Anyway that is just a by the by at least it sorted your problem. It would be interesting too to see what would happen if you went back to Chrome now if you like it better because I did and turned Kaspersky back on and no probs with the Libre!!

Greetings
don't know how it happens.
I had TeamViewer 10 and thought to upgrade to 11.
Never had any problem with upgrading before.
This time it got stuck with teamviewer service for too long until I killed the task.
after restart I was back in ver.10
Did 3 times, each time killed the sevice long installation but on the 3rd time I was in 11.
don't know how it happened.
What's more in th list of processes teamviewer service is marked as 11
maybe each time it installed a bit more of the service?
anyhow after the 3rd time when I saw that I was in ver.11 I had a session with a friend and it worked!
Did anyone had problems when upgrading from 10 to 11
details-
OS: windows 7 ultimate 64bit
cpu: I7
