Technician installed Windows 7 with a disclaimer

Hello everybody, I'm new to these forums!
Here's my question:

I took my computer to a technician who installed Windows 7 on it, but when I got it back, it had a little paper that said something like "Software is only for evaluation purposes, must delete after 30 days."

Is this even legal to do? I mean even with this disclaimer.
Is there something I can do?

Windows works fine, but he told me not to do updates.

It sounds like it wasn't activated and is a trial version of Windows 7. Lets make sure:

1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:

2. Run the tool, and then click Copy - ignore any errors if they appear

3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the tool here in your next reply

No- it's not legal, unless that machine has a COA sticker for the same version and edition of Windows.

As Golden said - let's have a look at the MGADiag report, and see what he's done.
