temp folder clean up

I put w7 in a 40gb partition and am trying to install programs to the larger partition. But I noticed free space is still going down on C:. Checking sizes I found a temp folder in users\appdata\local that is up to 3.6gb. I tried the system clean up but it only listed a few meg in the temp folder. Seems it points to another temp folder which also still had stuff after the "cleanup". Is it safe to delete all that crap in this temp folder?

Use Ccleaner ( Download CCleaner 2.25.1025 - FileHippo.com ) to clean up the temporary folders. It will only cleanup those that are safe to delete. Also: shadowstorage will take up to 6GBs on your disk. If you want no restore points, you can stop the creation of restore points - but I would not really recommend that until you are in a real bind.

If its only a couple of megs dont worry about it. Where are you storing the restore points and backups?

I don't know about restore points and it's the 3.6gb that's in a temp folder off users... I'm coming from w2k and never really got into it's workings. I have 2 harddrives with 2 real partitions each. The first drive has the 100mb system, a 40Gb (C OS and 109Gb (E for programs/games. The other drive has 10Gb (D which I use for some temp stuf and was to be for the swap file and temp stuff, but I decided to leave it where it is for now. And 139Gb (F for backup which is where windows has been told to back up to. I have Acronis True Image Home 2010 on order and plan to set it up with continous backup of C: and E: to F:. I also want tosee about backing up to drive space on my linux computer as it can send to ftp, but I put apache on it for a place to put files select people and don't know if it even has ftp or how to set it up. So that is yet to be figured out.

Also, while looking at computer management I noticed that system/C:/E: are listed as drive 2 and D:/F: are listed as drive 1. I thought I got the correct drive for w7 install, but I had to unplug the drives to move some cables and I'm wondering if I got the sata cables swaped when I put them back. Is it possible to simply switch the two sata cables while the system is off and have it come up with all the drives io the correct letters? Don't think that was possible with the old IDE.

Infact i discovered another temp folder in windows folder and started to delete files from it.....to get free space
