The color scheme has been changed to Windows 7 Basic - thiss really pi** me off, where i can turn it off?
I mean that automaticaly switching themes.

You should just be able to activate another theme. Had you just run any programs when this happened?

I have the same thing happen with WinAVI when converting videos, it changes back once the program has finished the conversion & been closed.

Its happening if i run MV2Player. I have "my" theme and do not want to system change it. Where i can turn it off?

I think it's due to software incompatability with the Aero effect in Vista & Se7en, this is why it's changing the theme. Is it the latest version of the software? If it is then there's not a lot that can be done, other than look fo similar programs that are designed for Vista & Se7ev.

You would have to check the setting in the software itself, other than that there's no way to change it. Not that I know of, but maybe someone might know

What orbital is saying is that there s no way to turn it off b/c the software that you are using is trying to command direct resources of the WDDM model that is currently being used by the system to display your theme - thus, it will happen every time you use that particular piece of software.

Actually - there is a way to turn it off - but that entails not using Aero at all...then you won't get the message, obviously.

It's the software's fault, not Windows, and until that software is updated, as long as you use Aero you'll get the message and it will switch.

Of course, it can also *sometimes* be dependent upon your GAs, too...since you haven't updated your system specs we can't know if it / they are contributing to the problem or not....

It can´t be software´s fault because MV2Player is was writed before Win XP or simultaneously http://javascript<b></b>:r(11)with Win XP.

No, that's why some software that was designed for XP (and even Vista) will change the theme of Vista & 7. It's not designed to be used with the Aero effect as it doesn't recognise the advanced GUI utilised in it's when it's active.

There may be some software out there (ConvertXtoDVD is just 1) that ignores the operating system GUI you would need to search it out though.

It would depend on the resources required and for certain environment variables to be in place. If the specific variable (e.g. Standard GUI) is not found/active then the software will compensate where neccessary in order to operate.

Additional: Have just downloaded M2VPlayer & installed on a Vista machine to the exact same effect.

VBA does the same thing. I think it's just something in the way it's programed. You could hack the program, or ignore it the best you can.

If you still think it is a Windows 7 problem, my suggestion to you is to format your computer and put XP back on and stop running a Beta OS that you don't fully understand. And I am not being facetious in saying this, I am being *serious*.

It has NOTHING to do with Windows 7.It's the software you are trying to use.

It's the software app using resources that conflict with the Aero theme. It can't be turned off as you so eloquently put it.

The WDDM 1.1 included with Windows 7 is supposed to fix this issue but it won't take effect until the people that write your software update their applications. Of course it didn't happen under XP. XP didn't use the same driver model as Vista/Seven. Understand things before making stupid posts.

If you want a video player that doesn't knock you out of aero, use the k-lite pack with media player classic and set the Output filter to 'EVR custom pres'.

Actually, I'm afraid you're wrong. I get this error every other day or so if my wallpaper on my 3 displays changes while I'm doing something CPU intensive like compiling a visual studio solution. I'm not using any 3rd party software or media players - it only happens when the wallpaper changes and the machine is overly occupied - not when I'm starting an app or playing a game or watching a movie. Win7 should recognize this and not revert the color scheme without asking - or better yet delay the wallpaper change until the CPU usage drops.

IMO, this is a bug with Win7.

Recently I've installed WINDOWS 7, after Vista. My tv tuner KWORLD TV878 won't work. I've tried drivers form vista and they were successfully installed but even if tv tuner WORKS, there is no COLOR in picture. After I start PVR PLUS, software for using tv tuner, I've got message from picture. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

Hi, I guess I am facing the same prob, kind of.

Sometimes when i watch "no matter what" with VLC the scheme changes to win7 basic. Usually thats no prob at all, I just have to close the programm and it changes to the regular scheme again, but not anymore ->
I close VLC and nothing happens :/ I have to restart the PC and that really sux is there a way (at least) to turn on the regular scheme manually?
